第二：学会分辨人们想要的东西和切实需要之间的差别有的时候人们需要被坚固，而有的时候人们需要被改变有时人们需要安慰，而不是被纠正，而有些时候人们需要走出自己的舒适地带，乐于接受纠正这个瘸腿的人需要的不是周济，而是能站起来而站起来恰恰就是彼得给他的礼物他拉着他的右手，扶他起来，他的脚和踝骨马上恢复健壮（使徒行传3：7）所以，为了帮助别人，我们必须学会爱人分辨别人的需要，从而给予真正的帮助

otice two things in this story. First: its important to know what you have and what you dont have. Peter said,Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. You must become comfortable in your own skin and confident in your calling. Paul writes: Dont cherish exaggerated ideas of yourself or your importance, but try to have a sane estimate of your capabilities by the light of the faith that God has given to you all Through the grace of God we have different gifts. If our gift is preaching, let us preach to the limit of our vision. If it is serving others let us concentrate on our service; if it is teaching let us give all we have Let the man who is called to give, give freely; let the man who wields authority think of his responsibility Love must be sincere. Let us have a genuine break with evil and a real devotion to good. (Romans 12:69 PHPS)
Second: learn to recognize the difference between what people want and what they truly need. Sometimes they need to be strengthened; other times they need to be stretched. Sometimes they need comfort, not correction; other times they need correction, not comfort. This lame man didnt need a handouthe needed a hand up. And thats what Peter gave him. He took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. (Acts 3:7 NKJV) So, in order to help people you must love them, recognize what they need, know what you have to offer, and connect with them at the point of their need.
