《A Walk to Remember》读后感(一):a romantic journey of love

It is that kind of story we might have read several times about a boy in love with a girl in illness and they stick to each other despite all obstacles, painness, dissatisfaction... but when I read it again under Nicolas Sparks's pen, it still intrigued the emotion which made me unable to keep dry eyes. Love might not come when we dream or chase it with eagerness, it just come silently and sometimes we didn't even realize it when we are acturally already in love. Life might not always be fair to everyone of us, just cherish what we already have, enjoy it and make the best of it, only in this way shall we be able to truely love and be loved. A walk to remember--------a romantic journey of love~~Hope every one would have such sweet memories at his or her fifty seven's just like the author.

  《A Walk to Remember》

《A Walk to Remember》读后感(三):A walk to renember

A walk to renember-Nicholas Sparks。

  The summary

Fifty-seven-year-old Landon Carter narrates the novel, reflecting on events from 40 years in the past. Landon is from a rich family, and his father is a congressman who spends most of his life in Washington, D.C., and is a stranger to his son and his grandfather built the Carter family fortune by preying on the poor. Very differently, Jamie is from a single parent family that is not rich at all, her mother died while giving birth to her. Her father Reverend Sullivan raises Jamie on his own, so they are deeply connected. Influenced by her father, she has unflattering clothing and hairstyle, and always tends to help the others in need. Although Landon has known Jamie most of his life as classmates, he is surprised to notice at the beginning of his senior year that she is becoming a woman and could almost be considered attractive.

Early in his senior year, Landon is elected student body president and must attend the upcoming Homecoming Dance. In order to avoid attending without a date, he invites Jamie who surprisingly dresses nicely and does not carry the Bible she usually always has with her. The evening ends eventfully when Jamie and Landon find themselves cleaning up after and taking care of Landon's former girlfriend, who has gotten drunk. Some weeks later, Jamie asks Landon to play the part of the father in the Christmas play; she has already been cast as the angel. Landon reluctantly agrees. The two begin spending time together, although Landon does so only out of obligation. Landon listens Jamie’s story and even visits an orphanage with Jamie and sees one of her pet projects firsthand.

On the day they are on the stage, Landon is shocked by how beautiful Jamie looks in her white dress. The play is also a great success. Jamie asks Landon to help her collect the bottles that are set on streets for donation to buy presents for the orphans. Astonished by the paltry donations, Landon empties his own bank account and adds those funds to the collection without telling anyone what he has done. With this decision to help Jamie and the orphans in this way, Landon surprises himself. Jamie buys gifts for the orphans and invites Landon to the orphanage Christmas party. There, Landon is deeply touched by both the starkness of the orphan's surroundings and by the deep connection Jamie shares with the young orphans. He is also surprised by how beautiful she looks; he cannot take his eyes off her. Landon soon realizes he has fallen in love with Jamie. Later, Landon invites Jamie to eat Christmas dinner at his family's historic and beautiful mansion.

When Landon tells Jamie that he loves her, she realizes that she must tell him her stunning news: She is dying of a rare form of leukemia and has only a few months to live. Landon is devastated, but he works through his fear and sadness and begins to pray for a miracle. His prayers soon lead him to ponder his purpose in life as he searches for a response to the feeling in his heart that there is some role for him in Jamie's illness, something for him to do. Landon soon discovers that purpose and asks Jamie to marry him, even in her weakened state. She agrees, and just as in her vision of her wedding day, hundreds of guests turn out for her wedding. Jamie's slow, painful walk down the aisle is, indeed, "a walk to remember."

In the last chapter of the novel, 57-year-old Landon reflects on the 40 years that have passed since his wedding to Jamie. He still loves her and has not removed his wedding ring in all those years. When he reveals that he now believes in miracles, the miracle saved her life.

  My opinion:

This is really a touching love story, The narrator says:” First you will smile, and then you will cry—don’t say you haven’t been warned…” I do smile and cry. I roam in the process of their love, laughing and sobbing. What impresses me most is that on the way seeking for love, the boy gets the courage to be himself, finds out what kind of life he does want instead of living in the shadow of his father and finally turns into a real respectable man.

The protagonist Landon falls in love with Jamie who is from totally another kind of family, diverse character, distinct background. Landon dubs himself as a bad boy by reason that he is lack of a manly influence because his father lives out of town for the most time, and that fact, coupled with his growing disillusionment with his father, makes him become something of a rebel. While Jamie is deeply connected with his single father, and doesn’t care much about outward appearances, instead, she is always looking for things like “inner beauty”. She spares no efforts to help others. There are so many differences between them, so it takes some time for them to fall in love.

The first half of the story is very interesting. The vivid description of inner heart battle reminds me of the naïve first love experience. The boy has feelings for the girl, but he doesn’t admit it, for he cares too much about how others will think of him as Jamie seems different from peers on account of she is so nice that other youth will feel shamed in front of her. The rest part is very appealing. Landon gradually realizes he is fascinated by Jamie, and can’t help companying her. He knows more about her that Jamie isn’t just simply the minister’s daughter, someone who read the Bible and does her best to help others; Jamie is also a seventeen-year- old girl with the same hopes and doubts. If Landon takes part in the play is to return Jamie’s favor, then he empties his own bank account and adds those funds to the collection to buy presents for orphans is indeed for the sake of love toward Jamie.

On the way searching for love, Landon learns to take responsibility for himself, for the family, for the woman he loves, and for all the surrounding people; he becomes the man to be his own not the little boy only listens to father and pursues something he doesn’t want in a daze. With Jamie’s steady hand he is showed how important it is to help others; with her patience and kindness he is showed what life is really all about. With the help of Jamie, he is back with his father again, and heals the wounds between the two families. At that moment, he learns the value of forgiveness and the transforming power that it offers. With the walk to remember, with the beauteous love, he finally grows up.

The true love, first love, and everlasting love that moves me so much that I’ll keep it in my deeper heart, however the life in the future will be, in spit whether I’ll find my true love or not, it always reminds me of the beauty of life.

  《A Walk to Remember》读后感(五):Bruceyew兄翻译版《A Walk Of Remember》读后记

Love means never having to say you're sorry“有得一拼。
