这本书最初的三分之一，我看得不快，大概用了一个月，每天只看一点。后面的三分之二，只用了三天。这实在是一本太吸引我的书了。但这吸引，不是愉悦的，而是一种揪心的牵挂。
放下手中的Kindle时，我百感交集。在被书中所描绘的各种人性的丑陋刺痛着的同时也被两位女主人公的善良，坚毅和包容深深地感动着。本应如鲜花般盛开的她们，在战争和家庭暴力的双重摧残下，身心都受尽了折磨。所幸的是，无论经历了多少屈辱和伤害，Mariam和Laila始终没有放弃内心深处对爱的向往，对未来的信念。这是Rasheed和Taliban都没法带走的东西。
当看到Mariam做了人生最后一件别人要求她去做的事时，我没有流泪。相反，我心中有淡淡的释怀。Mariam的人生的开始三十三年，经历了难以想象的失望，孤单与背叛。但是Laila的出现，让她离开Herat的恩师之后那颗冰冻多年的心被融化了。对Laila，她付出了很多种爱，对朋友的，对姐妹的，也是对女儿的。Laila对她的保护，理解和尊重，是她灰色的一生中最美丽的色彩。
那之后的每个章节，我都几乎在哽咽，尤其是读到那封Jalil留给Mariam却最终由Laila拆开的信。人一生短短几十年，宽容和理解是几乎一切美好的来源。而且，能够生活在和平年代，每一天都是如此值得珍惜，有什么不能坚强地面对呢？每一天都要拥抱心中温暖的太阳。

As a reminder of how women like us suffer,she'd said. How quietly we endure all that falls upon us.
(Laila desperately wants to get love from her mother, yet Mother in return only shows her igorance, coldness and indifference.There is this giant gap between mother and daughter)
The obligatory question, the perfunctory answers. Both pretending. Unenthusiastic partners, the two of them, in this tired old dance.

To Laila,the sounds she heard were those of a methodical, familiar proceeding. There was no cursing,no screaming, no pleading, no surprised yelps, only the systmetic of beating and being beaten, the thump, thump of somehing solid repeatedly striking flesh, something, someone, hitting a wall with a thud, cloth ripping.
I'm sorry," Laila says, marveling at how every Afghan story is marked by death and loss and unimaginalbe grief. And yet she sees, people find a way to survive,to go on.

这是个讲述阿富汗两个女子在战争背景下的生命历程的悲伤故事。故事是虚构的，可是里面是真实的生活，苦难的生活。里面有亲情，有友情，有爱情，更多的是血腥、杀戮和残暴。
故事里的两位女主人公，有着迥异的家庭和成长经历，是战争把她们联系到了一起。
玛瑞姆，私生女，和母亲一起在一个远离赫拉特的小屋生活，每天等待周三父亲的看望。他幻想和父亲一起生活，去城里寻找父亲，因顾及面子，父亲躲着没见她。回家后发现母亲因她的离开而上吊自杀了，于是开始和父亲一起生活。出于面子考虑，迫于妻子们的压力，没几天，父亲就把15岁的她嫁给了住在远离的喀布尔的一位四十多的鞋匠。婚后，她有了孕，却流产了，没能成功为拉士德生下一个后代，之后有是多次的流产，所以经常招殴打，然后是漠视。
莱拉，似乎比玛瑞姆幸运，虽然母亲因思念儿子而整日昏昏度日，父亲还是爱她的，她可以上学，有小伙伴和青梅竹马的恋人塔瑞克。然而因为战争，她失去了父母，失去了爱侣，在拉士德的骗局下以为塔瑞克已死，为了生存和生下和塔瑞克的孩子，她嫁给了拉士德。在生下不是儿子的女儿艾紫尔后，地位一落千丈，也开始被踢打。
她们共同被拉士德欺凌，出于对艾紫尔的爱，玛瑞姆和莱拉成了朋友。然后历尽离家出走，多次战争和政权更替，莱拉生了个儿子，她们辛苦地活着，对她们而言生活就是忍受，除了下午共饮一杯下午茶的时光。后来，塔瑞克回来了。拉士德怀疑莱拉,打算杀了她，为救莱拉，玛瑞姆把拉士德杀了。玛瑞姆被判死刑，莱拉和塔瑞克结婚，去探望玛瑞姆的老朋友，返回故乡，建立了孤儿院。
重建家园，希望总在闪现。文末，由为孩子命名巧妙地引出预示着希望的新生命正在莱拉的腹中孕育。
不管你是否知道，很多女人过着这样的生活 ： 缺爱、失去希望、肉体和精神忍受着屈辱和暴力，不仅仅在阿富汗，在印度，在中国的一些山区，在世界的很多角落。“正如指南针总是指南，男人责难的手指总是指向女人”这句话为全书奠定了一种基调：男人在社会和家占据权威地位，女人是低下的，她们的使命是传宗接代，而且必须是男的。一夫多妻、老夫幼妻的现象盛行。
战争是罪恶的，造成这些可怜女人的凄惨命运的是却主要归结于不平等的男女地位。我国“关爱女孩”的行动是必要的，要想缔造更为文明和和谐的社会，我们需要在这些地区进行深入的女权运动，来改善女性的处境。
在希望中我们踯躅前行。

Khaled Hosseini的笔调略显生硬，没有普通的英文小说的流畅感。。。也许是为了自然地显露different cultural background？ whatever....
和朋友谈起，说他的写作风格像是在拍电影。。。可是太多的特写。。。太多的聚焦，让我觉得矫揉造作。。。情节的不连贯。。。可笑的是看书的时候不知不觉地会想到小学时候的作文，那个时候也是这么努力地想尽可能细致地充实每一个画面。。。只是那个时候没有想到不仅作为作者很累，读者也会很痛苦。。。
看的时候会不停地问自己，为什么这本书会成为bestseller？因为这是在美国，因为这场战争，因为这个让他们陌生好奇憎恨抑或同情的国家，因为所呈现的黑暗的压抑的不只是故事情节。。。因为这本将fiction写成nonfiction的牛人？
Khaled Hosseini的确很伟大，只是不适合现在的我。。。可以读读，但是不可否认，就是不喜欢
《A Thousand Splendid Suns》读后感(五)：Pathetic Women
quot;Each snowflake was a sign heaved by an aggrieved woman somewhere in the world. That all the signs drifted up the sky, gathered into clouds, then broke into tiny pieces that fall silently on the people below."
This is what Nana told Mariam when she was still a little little girl, as a reminder of how women like them suffer, and how quitely they endure that fall upon them. how sad I am when I finished this page.

看过《追风筝的人》之后，再买的这本小说。断断续续看完了，思绪纷乱。这不是小说，是生活；我们不过是借着Mariam和Laila的眼看着时光变迁，住着她们的身体忍受命运的颠沛，最后，也学会掌握生命的节奏。
好的小说没有主角，只有世界上另一个你、我。
无论是Mariam还是Laila，成长中的每一次期盼和失落，仿佛自己的经历。小时候，也对父母（等权威）的认同有着无比执着的追求，每一次被爽约和被忽视都会带来伤害，但还好小孩子忘性也大。很可惜，Mariam和Laila受的伤害无法通过忘性来磨灭。
好的小说也没有主角光环，只有真实的磨难。
我爱Mariam年幼时的勇敢追求（虽然这间接导致了她母亲的死亡），但却讶异于她为人妇后的隐忍。我数着她们忍受的鞭打，以为总会有一个整数宣告痛苦的完结，但现实就像那颗恰好的炸弹，一两周的纠结带去了Laila父母的生命。
这是阿富汗啊，布卡遮面男尊女卑，抬起的手太脆弱无法阻止延绵的抽打；这是阿富汗啊，饱受战争摧残的阿富汗，你不知道哪一刻会遇上炮弹；这是阿富汗啊，平民的生活，没有例外的幸运，只有相似的不幸。

Mariam的母亲，甘为情妇，野居在外，不被世人承认。未觉醒。
Mariam为了追求父亲的承认，孤身向前；在被父亲卖做他人妻时的不愿意的表达；被丈夫长期鞭打的忍受……直至终结自身的苦难。觉醒的萌芽。
Laila，能够接受教育，有自由恋爱的权利，为了自我的不断逃离，回家重建新生。觉醒了的女性。

我无法描述那一刻的心情，如果泪水能够说话，不，连泪水都在哽咽。临终的善意，临终的醒悟，错过的爱……时间的遗憾总让人心酸。

This constant pain in my heart as I read this book.It is a story about family,friendship,faith and Self-redemption,about an inexcusable age,an impossible friendship and an indestructible love.For a time there is only endless despair in their life,but hope always comes at last,though never too much.Life is full of misery and bitterness for them, yet we can see from every chapter of the book the sunshine of hope.
In fact,the whole story is a miniature of the whole Afghanistan society.It was not until the year 2004 that Afghanistan held its first presidential election,which has finally put an end to the conflicts and sufferings brought by Taliban and Al Qaeda.Today,people in Afghanistan still live a very poor life,an eternal peaceful life seems an eternity.
The couple knows they must and they will live a good life,as Mariam’s right behind the one thousand splendid suns smiling at them.They will live their own life together with Mariam’s for ever.

ot as good as the 1st book... The Kite Runner... but still a good one to read.. from the point of a muslim lady... the hardship they have to go thru for being a muslim female... also the love to her parents... the deceived... the sadness and the disappointment... but at last... the generosity of sacrificing herself for the good of others.

读了大半本书，看到2000年这字眼，才突然意识到这个故事发生的时间——竟然是在我出生后，是在我衣食无忧、平安长大的平行时空中。战乱、暴力、流离失所、哀鸿遍野，都太遥远和模糊，仿佛它只应存在于过去的过去。可是转念一想，即便至今，又有多少人在过着我难以想象的生活？在战火中一遍又一遍重复着这样悲痛的故事？
Mariam和Laila被战火送入同一间地狱牢房，不过Mariam只是踏下一级台阶，Laila则是从天堂坠下。
Mariam的一生实在太坎坷，就像一块海绵不断地吸收着来自于这个世界的恶意，可是她的内心仍旧那么澄明。当一个人受到这么多不公时，往往会选择长出满身的刺来保护自己，就像她一开始对Laila那样，漠然、怨恨。可是最后她竟然仍能选择牺牲自己，举起刀，狠狠刺向Rasheed，刺向过去，也刺向未来，她真勇敢。当一个人渴望被需要的时候，力量会是无穷的。对于Mariam，似乎一切都姗姗来迟——Jalil的信，阿富汗的和平。她也是被需要的，只不过她都无法知道了。她死的那么平静、壮烈、决绝，那是一个人在摸爬滚打一生之后，对生命的理解。
Jalil作为一个知识分子家庭，生活可谓是完完全全地被战火摧残。当一个拥有平等、自由思想的女性，被迫戴上burqa，被迫成为丈夫的奴役，这种摧残或许比不曾得到过自由的人更为致命。

when i first read this book in chinese ,compare with the kite runner ,i think this oone was a little boring.but yesterday i finished the english ,the feeling was defferent.
In this book what shocked me most was when Traip and Laila met again after so many years ,then we knew what a big lie her hasband Rasheed organised for Traip's dead.
After they meet again ,they married and backed to kabul for the country's future.Laila devoted herself to helping the orphan and built a orphanage.she became someone who is special like her girl friends said when they were young. Another woman,Mariam,who is also Rasheed's wife,sacrificed herself for Laila. Although,at first she wanted kill Laila,finally she got love and respect from Laila and Laila's daughter.
That is a vrey mysterious country.it's old ,poor with frequent wars and conflicts,but the people there still live with hope and love!
