  ●真是没法喜欢这哥们的作品,这应该是最后一本了……话痨得不行,对细节描述有着变态般的执着,“我”总能遇到各种各样奇怪的女人其中有些还会主动提出要不要来一发,xxx是非常重要的元素,所有人都热爱古典和爵士乐。真是好奇怪 (关于话痨,说实话看到后来我发现每段话只用读第一句就行……)

  ●村上春树最厉害的地方该还是对生活琐碎巨细无遗却又兴趣盎然的描述吧。

  ●好厚啊,总体剧情还是乱乱的

  ●ab 男猪是一个失业的家庭煮夫,遇到了一些怪人,经历了一些怪事,离家出走的老婆把自己的亲哥给灭了,坐牢去了,断断续续听完的,有些情节已经记不清了,总之人物情节神马的比较诡异,不明白大叔写这书想表达啥。真是难为Rupert Degas了,又是模仿老人,又是模仿少女的。

  ●竟然忘记标了。 我现在也不太记得这故事的结尾了,简直是骑士团长的练笔。

  ●魔幻现实主义么?虽然支线很多(Kumiko离家,奇怪的Creto Malto姐妹以及May以及Nutmeg和Cinnamon母子档,日军侵华,不知道为啥邪恶的Noburu),但我一直心心念念Kumiko,看到最后她对Okada仍是满满爱意就放心了。开头很悬疑,中间节奏很棒,一直停不下来,最后结局。。。有些仓促。整个plot,怎么说。。。很玄妙!就是这个感觉。(NYPL看的第一本书,翻译的特别好,也是很久以来第一次看这么厚的,看到中间都不知道是三合一啊。。。)

  ●Jay Rubin translator version is a must. 看完前我也没意识到这是本长篇小说,故事有文学性,故事性,很像我3年前读的1Q84。村上的小说都类似,不过更想读他的散文,了解他对人生,文学,跑步,音乐的感悟,近期不太想读他的其他小说了。

  这本书好像是1997年出版的,20年前的书内容也很契合90年代的背景。读完以后感觉被抽干了,好累!短期内不能再读村上的其他小说,尤其是这种长篇。

  Reading Haruki Murakami is like solving a puzzle, first it shows you dedicate pieces with detail and precision one by one, and gradually and carefully form them together, to the end when you look back, it naturally comes up a masterpiece.

  这是一个关于迷茫和隐忍的故事,一个关于每个人人生必经的瓶颈和如何度过煎熬的故事,大概也是经过人生低迷的村上才能琢磨得透的,其中对弗洛伊德心理学,佛学,历史和艺术的借鉴不胜枚举,极度的禁欲主义和欲望在意识深层的具像化如同书本身般错综复杂,村上的书从来就不是卖故事,就像他自己在1Q84里说的那样,世间的一切都是隐喻,个体间隐喻的相互投射造就了个体本身,所以我即是自己也可能是别人,或许我们从来都只是一个人,一个人不同的面罢了。

  Toru在突如其来的漫长的盛夏遇到了人生的第一个瓶颈期,高贵的律所里跑腿的差事变成往事,维系婚姻的爱猫悄然失踪,无法满足妻子性的他变得自卑,成全姻缘的算命老先生绝尘而去,表面平静的婚姻细思则碎,他似乎在逐渐失去着生命中一样又一样珍贵的东西。

  邻街古宅内有口深不见底的枯井,通向Toru潜意识的深处,那里一片漆黑让Toru思绪全无,只能通过真实世界里与自己命运交错的人生平的点点滴滴捕风捉影。

  1) May是隔壁家同样迷茫的妙龄少女,从辍学到摒弃车祸中的男友到学做掩盖个体真实的假发到潜心于避世的深林里的工作都充盈着和社会大潮茫茫众生的叛逆和与众不同,同样是迷茫,彼时Toru脑海空无一物,而May明白绕开自己厌恶的东西。某种程度上排除法也是间接的追求,这是Toru迷茫期的第一盏明灯。

  2) 残臂老兵历经人生黑暗在被嗜剥皮的残酷俄军敌将遗弃的枯井中九死一生,在众叛亲离的难民营中苟且偷生最终背负着诅咒回到日本过着活死人的生活继续忍受煎熬。绝望孕育希望,隐忍耗尽黑暗。

  3) 两姐妹身上的隐忍最为明显,一个深藏玄技却恍若隔世,一个青年时被精神强暴后丧失对世界所有的感官从此穿上了一尘不变的恋旧的古着,唯独巨大的红色宽边帽夺目,强烈的压抑隐忍和深埋的欲望汇聚一身,这种隐忍在梦境里通过肢体的交合感染了Toru,Toru也因此常在井下沉思,隐忍耗尽黑暗,文末她生下了Toru和残臂老兵共同的孩子,给漫漫长夜带来黎明。

  4) 井是痛苦和磨难的具像化而深井沉思则是对苦难的隐忍,井的另一边是梦境或潜意识的深层,那里是一片迷宫饱含着意识深处最强烈的欲望的实现,对女性性的满足,借酒精对苦难的宣泄,以及对宿敌的终结都在潜意识的迷宫里逐一被Toru发现并在现实生活中逐一浮出水面。

  5) 昏暗的酒吧一贫如洗的吉他手生平第一次表演魔术,拿出打火机灼烧善琴的左手,对台下惊愕的观众平静的说所有的歌曲都是为了激起共鸣释放并分享内心禁锢的痛苦。隐忍是一把可以分享的利器具像化为一杆棒球棍为Toru所得为Toru战胜往后的黑暗。

  6) 曾今时装界风靡一时老来风韵犹存的女设计师隐隐于市,父亲曾是驻满洲国的兽医,奉命结束了战时动物园里虎狼的饥饿与磨难,是屠杀也是救赎,他脸上巧合的有着和Toru在深井沉思后获得的疤痕,用来普渡苦海众生。

  7) Kumiko和姐姐都被控制欲征服欲强大的哥哥精神侵犯在人生的不同阶段完全丧失了自我崩坏了婚姻,也因此开启了Toru寻找遗失的珍贵的修行,Kumiko的哥哥与Toru截然相反是普世观中的成功者和社会认可的统治者,早在多年前就对Toru和Kumiko的婚姻极力反对,是所有苦难的源头在Toru和Kumiko青年时期就埋下伏笔,私奔偷婚是一种逃避,意识深处最终的搏杀才是勇敢面对,那时候的Toru经历了磨难,隐忍,得到了救赎的疤痕和撕裂黑暗的棒球棍。最终战胜了黑衣人。

  8) 黑衣人是与Toru对抗的普世价值观和社会大潮的具像化,是Toru自身迷茫和恐惧意识深层的形态,你可以击垮它却不能终结它,因为它是一个人生命里成长的一部分,当Toru在意识深层将黑衣人击倒时,现实中Kumiko的哥哥,也是痛苦的源头病逝,Toru自己的心结被解开豁然开朗,严酷而漫长的夏天终于过去,Toru和人生第一个瓶颈告别,冬夜的寒风别样的清人心脾。

  9) 是不是觉得忘了点什么,那只发条鸟,那只微小却能撬动大地的发条鸟,不就是在与世界逆行修行中自我寻找自我救赎的Toru么,一点一点拧着发条,一点一点倾覆着世界。

  读了一个假期终于结束了,读的时候很费解,读完了以后更加费解,十分感同身受,在下一本村上前是要好好休息一阵子了,起码要先亲身将这本书琢磨透,在彼岸开启新一段旅程。

  《The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle》读后感(三):The well

  I love this story. There are a few things that make it different from other works of Murakami--first, it adopted only one perspective throughout the novel, i.e. that from Mr. Okada, thus making the story more coherent and compelling; second, the story is more logical, despite the many unsolved riddles, Murakami gave his own explanation at the end through Mr. Okada’s talk to Kumiko in Room 208.

  A few questions surfaced after finishing this book. 1. Who is Kumiko and what is her relation to a few other women in the story, including Crete Kano and May Kasahara? It seems plausible to me that both women are vaguely linked to Kumiko--Crete was defiled by Wataya, shared the same appearance as Kumiko, and rescued Mr. Okada, and May, who was equally hollow, escaped from Mr. Okada, and even felt like being Kumiko. 2. Who is Mr. Okada? The mark on his cheek resembled Nutmeg’s father, if not due to coincidence, he was deeply connected to Mr. Honda and the lieutenant who were both stationed in Manchuria, and found the path through the dry well. He received the mark when he first stayed at the bottom of the well, entered Room 2808, and evaded before Wataya appeared, and the mark eventually disappeared after nearly identical experience, he entered Room 2808 again, but killed Wataya this time, and that indicated the end of the well, as water started filling in. But what’s his relation to the war in Manchuria? 3. Who is Wataya? Of course, he is the brother of Kumiko, but what does he represent? Is he somehow linked to Boris the man-skinner? What does defilement mean exactly? What has he done to his two sisters and Crete? What is the source of his resentment towards Mr. Okada? Was he the musician with a guitar?

  Many riddles and mysteries indeed and no one could offer a reasonable explanation. However, this is perhaps the nature of our life--many things do not follow logic or sequence, they might be reminiscence of the past or bear implications of the future. There is no clear boundary between imagination and reality, especially so when they let go of their conscious struggle. No thing really makes sense in this world, if you really think of it. People just take it as if it does make sense, and you will be in trouble if you become too aware of this fact. I guess this is the message that Murakami is trying to convey.

  The well is a marvelous idea. Just imagine sitting at the bottom of a dry well, with utter darkness and silence--so dark that you could not even locate your body, and so silent that the only sound comes from your heartbeat. Looking upward, light comes in from the tiny opening, but it is soon merged in the black. You are surrounded by hunger, thirst, and despair, but not necessarily loneliness. To some extent, you are completely cut off from the world even yourself, as if you and the well become the world. When light sheds in, as the sun posits in the right angle, sheer brightness gushes in and gently touches every inch of your skin--I would have lost my soul at that moment, wouldn’t I?

  The well also serves another purpose--to help Mr. Okada separate his soul and body and enter the other world, where he could find the Room 208 and Kumiko, but it was Crete there originally, perhaps they were the same person? Is it possible that Malta was Kumiko’s sister and Crete, Kumiko?

  A story should leave the reader both satisfied and confused.
